Summer 2012 Volleyball Clinics

Attending a TCS Hitting Clinic this summer is the perfect way to improve your overall hitting skills. TCS offers general hitting clinics that cover all aspects of proper technique and position specific clinics that allow each player to receive even more specialized training.

• Players will hit a wide variety of sets and work on improving accuracy of different shots – line, cross, sharp cross.
• Middle blockers will focus on the skills associated with the position: quick play sets, blocking, and transition.
• The Setter/Hitter clinic will allow setters to put into practice what they have learned and give hitters the opportunity to hit off live sets.

The passing clinics will cover all aspects of basic passing fundamentals. Players will receive a high number of repetitions to increase skill level and back row confidence.

• Clinic covers various components of back row defense – defensive posture, platform positioning, movement, reading the ball, etc.
• Players will work on improving their serve receive, free ball, and down ball passing.
• Players will learn how to read and track the ball properly.

Serving clinics will focus on the basics of overhand serving, as well as advanced serving techniques (including jump serving).  Players will receive a high number of individual repetitions to improve serving accuracy.

The Setting clinics will give players an opportunity improve their overall setting technique – hand positioning, footwork, etc.

• Players will receive a high number of repetitions on various play sets.
• Setters will put into practice what they have learned and give hitters the opportunity to hit off of live sets.
• Advanced setting clinic is ideal for players who have experience with faster tempo sets and play sets.
